Can Root Canal Therapy Save a Tooth?
The short answer is yes, but not always. Root canal therapy is an attempt to save a tooth that would otherwise require extraction.
If your tooth is extracted an artificial replacement can be fabricated by Den-Care Smile Center in the form of a fixed or removable bridge, a partial denture or dental implant.
However, a reasonable success rate should be expected with root canal therapy and it is usually best to try to save the tooth. The treatment alternatives will still be available if the root canal fails and the tooth is lost. Therefore, unless a poor success rate is expected from the tooth due to poor structural integrity of the remaining tooth, saving your own tooth with root canal therapy should be the primary goal.
