All Kids (Medicaid) Orthodontics and Braces
Medicaid, also know as Public Aid, is a form of government assisted health care available to low-income families and individuals in Illinois. Currently there are two government funded Medicaid programs that offer general dental care and orthodontic treatment with braces for children in Illinois; All Kids and Family Care.
Who can qualify for All Kids, Medicaid or Public Aid in Illinois?
Low income families in Illinois including Cook, Lake, DuPage and McHenry Counties as well as the surrounding communities of North Chicago, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Zion, Winthrop Harbor, Wadsworth, Lindenhurst, Gurnee, Round Lake Beach, Waukegan, Lake Villa, Grayslake, Antioch, Wauconda, Fox Lake, Vernon Hills and Round Lake can qualify for orthodontic treatment and braces on the All Kids program.
My child has All Kids coverage, are braces covered?
Not necessarily. If your child qualifies for the All Kids program in Illinois (21 years and under), the program provides dental coverage for exams, cleanings, fluoride, sealants, fillings, root canals and other common dental procedures. Each patient must be pre-approved before orthodontic treatment can begin and only children with severe needs will qualify for orthodontic treatment and braces. Your child must qualify before orthodontia is covered by All Kids (Medicaid) in Illinois.
